Minecraft
The latest Java Snapshot of Minecraft comes with a lot of important changes, especially for experimental features. Mainly, these consist of tweaks to the Bundles, Minecarts, and the Redstone experiment, along with general technical improvements and bug fixes.
This update must improve playability and polish any player feedback to make Minecraft an even better game.
Bundles
Example The Bundle tooltip will now have three rows, and it will hold at least eight types of items.
This addresses player feedback that moving items in a Bundle made them hard to track.
Minecarts
The tooltip is now three rows in the Bundle, allowing for at least space for eight item types.
This change addresses player feedback regarding the difficulty of tracking items as they move within Bundles.
Minecarts no longer snap forcefully to the centre of a block when landing on rails, enhancing movement realism.
They now snap to corners properly when snapped to diagonals and are placed with the proper rotation when placed on rails or slopes.
Dispensers and Minecarts now stack again.
Redstone Experiments
A left-first priority has been added to redstone wire updates, existing to reduce randomness in contraptions.
This may affect the quasi-connectivity due to the removal of excessive neighbor updates around the redstone wire. These consequences will be addressed in future updates.
General Changes
Projectiles such as arrows and tridents now bounce off the world border upon impact.
Other significant performance optimisations include more excellent framerates for higher render distances and less performance impact when turning the camera.
The recipe book now remembers the last selected recipe for easier crafting.
Items that convert to another item after consumption no longer do so in Creative mode, preventing unnecessary item generation.
Technical Changes
Data Pack Version 50
Introduction of new item components, such as minecraftuse_remainder, minecraftuse_cooldown, and minecraftconsumable, which provide more detailed customization options for item behaviours.
Resource Pack Version 36
Consolidation of shader program definitions and adjustments to shader configurations, improving consistency and flexibility.
Bug Fixes
A lot of bugs were fixed, including those that involve Minecart behavior, visibility of enchantments, GUI crashes, and several other animation and rendering glitches.
This snapshot provides a constant refinement and iterative improvement in Minecraft through the feedback of players and new technological opportunities that help give a much more refined and enjoyable experience.
