Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has brought back the attention of fans with a rumoured release of a DLC in late May 2025. While the popular title has been on the shelves for 6 years, and there haven't been any massive expansions for the game in a while, it is still regularly updated. This upcoming DLC was originally planned to be released in 2024, but ended up being delayed to this year.
The new DLC, labeled Battle for Brooklyn, looks to be quite a big one, which is what fans have been eagerly waiting for. The overall added game time with the new DLC is reportedly 6-10 hours, which is a huge gameplay addition. Supposedly set in an Autumn season, with familiar sights of the city, like the Brooklyn Bridge, will also be icons in the game. Not just maps, they have added the addition of a new weapon used by the in-game ‘Cleaners’, it’s an interesting idea, when you shoot them, they, in essence, reduce your maximum amount of ammo.
Most recently, anywhere there is a The Division 2 Review, it is mostly positive due to the scale of the DLC. But it does face some scrutiny on The Division 2 reddit, as the DLC does come at a hefty price point of $14.99, and when you look into what some of the players wanted, like more raids or a new incursion, it didn’t quite deliver. Nonetheless, it’s great for the game to have more content, as frequent enjoyers of the game were getting pretty tired of the lack of content.
The initial open beta was on March 1st, 2019
