Blizzard Entertainment has revealed visual designs of two future Overwatch 2 maps, Atlantic Arcology and Tokyo. According to Blizzard Entertainment, both Atlantic Arcology and Tokyo maps will become available sometime after Season 19. More specific information regarding these maps will be released in 2025.
Atlantic Arcology presents an expected one-of-a-kind setting that might combine cybernetic architectural designs with ocean views. Overwatch 2 will bring its second Japan-themed location to the game through its Tokyo map after Hanamura. The released objectives for the new Overwatch 2 maps will deliver unique gameplay aspects that support the dynamic nature of Overwatch 2.
The 2025 roadmap of Overwatch 2 also includes two new hero additions: Freja in Season 16 and Aqua in Season 18. Freja serves as the Danish bounty hunter with her rapid-fire crossbow weapon while Aqua comes from China with her water-based abilities.
Overwatch 2 Season 15 marks the return of loot boxes to the game alongside the Perks system, and the K-pop singer LE SSERAFIM will collaborate to bring fresh Overwatch 2 skins and cosmetics.
Players who enjoy Overwatch 2 should expect the game to gain substance and different gameplay elements through these upcoming updates.
Season 19 will bring these maps to players during the late year 2025.
The hero Freja is coming in Season 16, while Aqua is scheduled for Season 18.
The gameplay flexibility improves through the Perks system that provides minor and major ability upgrades to heroes.
Three years after their removal, Season 15 of Overwatch 2 will bring back loot boxes that deliver randomized cosmetic content.
