Despite being virtually a universal candidate for being one of the worst games ever made (most prominent in True PC Gaming), that didn't stop Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing from pulling a surprise on Steam, launching with a 'Mostly Positive' rating.
Big Rigs was finally released on Steam after three years of internet mockery, and so far, 71 people have taken a turn behind the wheel. Even if the player count was tiny, the game’s reputation is flipping, at least superficially. It is a game known for both broken physics, non-existent AI, and gameplay that doesn't work at all, as these results of 79% positive user reviews are a stunning accomplishment indeed for the devs.
But it’s not necessarily an organic positive response. Ironically, glowing reviews from a lot of Steam users appear to be playing along with the game's meme status. These reviewers are not interested in actual quality and go so far as to praise Big Rigs as a "masterpiece" or "peak gaming," similar to other trolls who just want to keep the joke alive. There's a strange full circle to it for a game that rose to fame for being famous, not for what it was, but for how horridly it failed.
Only 71 players since launch.
79% of them are positive.
Most are ironic and content of the meme type.
It remains absolutely hosed.
