Monster Hunter Wilds is Capcom’s best-selling game since its release, and the community is absolutely loving it! Since gracing the shelves in February 2025, there have been thousands of mixed reviews, but still a strong fanbase that has played the franchise for years. It was released simultaneously on all platforms, the first of its franchise to give all consoles the chance to play at the same time.
The devs behind the game are working constantly to add features, monsters, and events to keep everyone happy, and it is working! The most recent update is aimed at creating a fair playing ground for new players versus veterans of the game and higher levels.
A direct quote from the Monster Hunter X account states, “Going forward, future Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will not include rewards that require specific leaderboard rankings. Rankings on the Expedition Record Board will continue to be viewable as usual. Stay tuned for updates on future event rewards to come!”
The response from the community has been great, and people who play the game believe the developers are doing great things for the game. The Monster Hunter Wilds beta had many problems, and some filtering through to the main game, but by the looks of the response from recent patches and updates, the general Monster Hunter Wilds review is slowly turning positive.
The game was released on all consoles on February 28th, 2025.
