It was announced in the latest Nintendo Direct that Elden Ring is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. It is the first time that FromSoftware's celebrated action RPG will arrive on a Nintendo platform beyond Dark Souls Remastered.
The Switch 2 version of the game, known as the Tarnished Edition, features the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. It also comes with new armour sets and Torrent customization for the player's spectral steed. These will also be available on other platforms.
While it has not been made clear exactly what the performance details of the Switch 2 port will be, its hardware upgrade is set to help tackle the game's demanding open-world design. The release of the action role-playing title, which was already one of the best-selling games of 2022, could push Elden Ring's impressive sales (which were at 28.6 million copies by the end of last year) even higher.
Unsurprisingly, it remains unconfirmed whether a Switch 2 version of Elden Ring: Nightreign, the upcoming co-op spinoff, will follow. Fans must settle for Lands Between on Nintendo’s next-gen hardware for now.
The release is scheduled for later in 2025.
It has the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, new armour sets, and customization options for Torrent.
No, the additional content will also be distributed on other platforms.
As of now, nothing has been confirmed about its release on Switch 2.
