The Diablo 4 March 2025 update adds several technical improvements and gameplay changes, including the Intel XeSS, resolution scaling, and XeLL Frame Generation support for PC and major balance changes and bug fixes. The update focuses on performance optimization as it solves two major player concerns about building stability and endgame balance.
PC performance improves further with the introduction of Intel XeSS upscaling and XeLL Frame Generation, which are available in this update for compatible PC hardware. The new additions expand the available options that let players enhance their framerate performance alongside existing DLSS and FSR choices. The system allows resolution scaling by default through hardware-dependent adjustments to increase overall stability.
The update provides game balance adjustments by giving Druids a +50% Shred double damage chance through Waxing Gibbous, and Sorcerers receive a 30% Ball Lightning damage boost from 24%. The developers at Blizzard Entertainment also worked on reworking both Okun’s Catalyst and Strike of Stormhorn for better clarity and power scaling measures. The main focus of updates includes resolving important problems that affect Necromancer minions, Sorcerer barriers, and Rogue Shadow Clone transfer issues, among others. This update fixes accessibility issues as well by fixing the screen reader failures with Paragon nodes and the dungeon reward display.
The update focuses on improvements as Blizzard has identified seasonal content development and permanent quality-of-life features as its primary priorities throughout 2025.
The update includes Intel XeSS/XeLL Frame Generation together with default resolution scaling capabilities.
The Sorcerer now has enhanced Ball Lightning abilities and higher Glass Cannon damage capabilities.
The Golem/Warrior Glyph damage problems received partial resolution.
It will be in 2026, as per Blizzard’s roadmap.
