Astro Bot has done it again. Another Game of the Year award has been added to its arsenal, this time at the BAFTA Games Awards.
After its strong reception and massive fan involvement, Astro Bot carries on its winning streak by taking home top honors at BAFTA 2025. With its creativity, technical excellence, and pure fun, Astro Bot managed to shine through in a field of competition that includes the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Its clever level of design and the sense that it pushed platforming innovation without missing a beat got the judges' praise.
Voting also came from fans of the beloved bot, who voted heavily for it and helped secure it as a true gaming icon.
In their acceptance speech, Sony’s Japan Studio, the team behind the Astro bot, expressed both their gratitude and how they are looking forward since this game has gone from a small VR experience to a whole phenomenon. They credited the community for their passion and their feedback, which made it possible and really shaped the final game. This victory is read by many in the industry as a sign that in a market of massive open-world RPGs and shooters, the place for unique, charming titles is still very powerful.
Astro Bot’s growing collection of awards now includes two GOTY wins from the Game Awards and DICE, and this time, an award from BAFTA. Despite the momentum still in their favor, fans are already speculating about what comes next for the franchise.
