American Truck Simulator is switching gears with its new “Road Trip” mode, in which players can escape the traditional big rigs to explore its vast landscapes with other vehicles. This mode, according to SCS Software, will let people drive pickups and sports cars, thus bringing a new perspective and new gameplay opportunities. The ultimate goal is to give people reasons to drive these vehicles, e.g., to take on new tasks or just enjoy an open road and find landmarks. ​

A dedicated team is developing this mode to ensure that the core trucking content can be updated when needed.
