There are thousands of PC and mobile games available on the internet these days. Monster Hunter Wilds, which has been a success amongst these thousands, has left players wanting more. The game allows players to go through a world filled with monsters and craft valuable items with which to defeat these monsters. One particular item is very important in this world and it's called the Guardian Scale. It doesn't matter if you're upgrading your weapons or trying to forge new ones, finding the Guardian Scale can help you take your gameplay to a higher level. In this guide, you'll learn what this material is, how to locate it, and where you can easily find it.

Okay. So, you want to know where to find Guardian Scales but do you even know what they are? The Guardian Scales are some form of low-rank material in Monster Hunter Wilds that are dropped by specific monsters when you defeat them. They are described as being colourless but imbued with mysterious properties that make them valuable when you're planning to craft mid-to-high-tear equipment.
Unlike many other items dropped by monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to have a target if you're looking to get the Guardian Scales. The key is preparation. The way the game is set up, there are guardians that protect the land of Wyveria, where you can easily find the Guardian Scales. These guardians are very resilient and it means getting an item from them requires a lot of effort. So, yeah. The hunt is totally worth it.
But where will you find the monsters to hunt, you ask?
There's no better place to farm Guardian Scales than the Ruins of Wyveria. Of course, it's a late-game area and you have to progress through the story to get there. If you're fast enough, you can get to this location by chapter 3. If not, you should get there by chapter 4.
The area is a sprawling, decayed landscape that's filled with the remnants of an ancient civilization. And, of course, guardian monsters are aplenty here. This is where you will meet the two primary sources of Guardian Scales: the Guardian Ebony Odogaron and the Guardian Rathalos.
The Ruins of Wyveria is not your typical gaming backdrop. Far from that, it's a dynamic hunting ground that features crumbling structures, open fields, and tight corridors. These obstacles are set up to make it harder to reach targets.
You have to be prepared to encounter Guardian monsters here as they are always patrolling specific zones. The idea is to explore this area, familiarizing yourself with the layout so you know where the monsters spawn from.
This is a ferocious, artificial remake of the classic Odogaron. This beast is very fast and aggressive with guardian abilities as it roams the Ruins of Wyveria. It's your best bet if you're looking to get a Guardian Scale. To get the item from this monster, you have to focus on creating and breaking wounds during the fight.
If you're very familiar with Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll know that wounding is a key component. You have to target the body and legs of the Guardian Ebony Odogaron with wounds that can help you defeat it. If you keep attacking other parts like the head or tail, you may get something different when you eventually defeat this monster. You should also possess weapons with sharpness or wounding skills, like the Flayer skills, so you can get things done quickly.
If you're in the mood for it, you can take on optional quests like Perfect Plundering which features the Guardian Ebony Odogaron. You can access this quest after your first encounter with the monster. If you wish to repeat, you can speak to Alma, the quest handler. The more you complete the quest, the more you get Guardian Scales.

If you're unable to fight the Guardian Ebony Odogaron, you can opt for the Guardian Rathalos instead. This is a synthetic version of the iconic King of the Skies and like its counterpart, you can also find it in the Ruins of Wyveria. Of course, it also drops Guardian Scales.
This monster, blessed with the ability to fly, is more challenging when it comes to aerial battles. Just like the Guardian Ebony Odogaron, you should focus on winding its body rather than breaking parts like the wings or tail.
Rathalos does much damage in the air. It can shoot fireballs and swoop down to drop explosive attacks which are powered by Wyvern Milk energy. To stop it from flying around, you need Flash Bombs or use the slinger armour to stop its flight. Once you have it grounded, you can target the torso or the legs to create wounds. Breaking a wound will cause the monster to drop Guardian Scales. There's an optional quest called The King's Triumphant Return that allows you to fight this beast and fame scales through combat and quest completion.
Why go through all this trouble? The answer is simple.
Guardian Scales are the first step through some of the game's early-to-mid-game gear. You can use them to craft guardian-themed armour sets which are very important for high defence and resistance, and you can use them to build weapons that are solid for tackling tougher foes.
Away from the stats, collecting these scales helps you to progress faster in Monster Hunter Wilds. They also give you the grace to move from low-rank to High-rank okay easily. And let's face it: there's a satisfaction that comes with being able to defeat the monsters and use their remnants to build tools of your own.

The Ruins of Wyveria is the best place to farm Guardian Scales in Monster Hunter Wilds. This late-game area can be unlocked in chapter 3 or 4 of the game. Here, you will find the Guardian Ebony Odogaron and the Guardian Rathalos. You have to wound these monsters to be able to farm Guardian Scales.
Your best bet would be the Guardian Ebony Odogaron and Guardian Rathalos. These low-rank monsters will drop Guardian Scales as long as you continue to injure them. But you can only wound their body parts as wounding their heads or tails would give you something else.
You can only find guardian scales in low-rank versions of guardian monsters. You have to make sure you’re hunting only these types of monsters as they are the only ones capable of dropping Guardian Scales.
To find Guardian Scales in Monster Hunter Wilds, you have to be able to defeat the Guardians Ebony Odogaron and Rathalos with strategies that are unique. You can either use optional quests or wound-induced combat to gather these resources in large quantities. While this process is very tasking, you get rewards that are going to help you perfect the way you play.
