Monster Hunter Wilds Congalala first shows up during the ‘Forest Findings’ mission in Chapter 1, shortly after you’ve dealt with Lala Barina. You’ll find this cheeky Fanged Beast chilling in Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest, although it has no problem relocating to other areas mid-fight. Later in the game, you’ll also see a Tempered MH Wilds Congalala in the Ruins of Wyveria—yep, stronger and stinkier.

Before you even land a hit on big papa ape, you’ll be swarmed by little Congas. They’re annoying, they bite, and they’ll absolutely mess up your rhythm. Deal with them first—they drop Brute Bones, which is a nice bonus.

If you’ve got Deodorants, now’s their time to shine. If not, keep your distance until the stench wears off and don’t chug potions near stink clouds.

Congalala Monster Hunter Wilds is weak to both Fire and Ice elements. If you’ve been farming Quematrice in the Windward Plains, fire weapons are a solid choice. Otherwise, armor and weapons from Lala Barina can also help—they come with Paralysis, and Congalala is totally vulnerable to it.
