Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s biggest strength is the amount of freedom you are given to choose how to handle different problems. You can decide to go into a fight with brute force, lure your enemy away with a stone, pull out a sword and whack him to death, or sneak up behind him and choke him out. We know many players like to sneak up on your enemies, so we will discuss all you need to know about stealth kills and Knockouts in KCD2.
Stealth takedown is an entirely different approach in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Some players may see it as just crouching behind the enemy and pressing a button, but it has more to do with it than just that. To begin with, you must first unlock the “Stealth Kill” ability within the Player menu. This skill is found in the Stealth category and should be the initial skill you’ve acquired. If it’s not unlocked, you won’t be able to quietly dispatch enemies, regardless of other factors.
Also, you must have in your possession a “KCD2 dagger”. A KCD2 dagger is given to you at the start of the game, but If you misplace or despise it, you can obtain another one. When receiving a KCD2 dagger, ensure you go for the one with high damage points as it helps take down stronger enemies faster. Stealth success rates in KCD2 are now tied to factors such as player timing, strategy, and dagger type. You must approach your target quietly from behind, as any noise will disclose your presence and lead to retaliation from your target. Once you are close to your target, initiate the takedown command. Ensure you are near, as timing and placement play an important role here.
Dagger is the key weapon in KCD 2 that allows you to perform stealth kills. You can obtain a KCD2 dagger from different means in the game. Either way, you must have a KCD2 dagger in your inventory or pouch for a stealth kill.
Stealth in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 allows you to sneak up on an enemy, pickpocket, or even knock them unconscious without raising an alarm. Avoid running, jumping, and striking objects whenever you want to execute stealth in KCD2 as it will alert nearby enemies. It is best to be in the shadows, moving slowly, and crouching to mitigate the chance of being detected. And more importantly, stay out of an enemy’s line of sight to remain undetected.
Note that, KCD2 stealth is a non-combat skill that allows you to avoid detection by lowering your visibility. It is designed to be used in places where you can easily get caught by the guards or enemies. KCD2 stealth will not make you invisible, so choosing the appropriate clothing for the situation is essential. Your chance of stealth in KCD2 is accessible from the visibility stats. KCD2 stealth is a combination of visibility, conspicuousness, and less noise.
Knockouts in KCD2 are sneak attacks in which you do not kill the enemy but make him unconscious. To fully execute this, you must crouch behind an enemy and press the Knockout (F button). In KCD2, you wear light armour to conceal noise and make it difficult to be detected by anyone around. A blue sword icon will appear, indicating the need for a timed input after initiating. Press the R2 on the controller when prompted. The enemy may resist if they are stronger than you, with a green shield icon that appears, prompting you to block. Using perks like “Tight Grip” and “Sandman” will significantly improve your effectiveness in stealth and knockout.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, various perks can greatly boost your stealth performance and ensure flawless results.
Open your inventory and check if you have a KCD2 dagger by pressing the “I” button. Once you confirm you have a dagger, move close to your target. Once you are within range an L2 button appears in the bottom right of the screen if you’re on PS5. Hold the L2 to initiate a stealth kill. But if you want to just knock out the enemy then tap the button.
This will leave the enemy unconscious. Knocking out an enemy is helpful if you’re inside someone’s house and don’t want to kill somebody. Press the R2/RT/the RMB after seeing the blue swords icon appear. You will immediately overpower the enemy to avoid letting them escape or warn other enemies.
You can also choose to leave them unconscious if they’re just Knockouts in KCD2. However, it is important to hide their body somewhere if they’re dead, to prevent any type of alert from someone who passes through.

To unlock stealth kills, you must first acquire the Stealth Kill ability in the Stealth category of the Player menu. Additionally, you need a KCD2 dagger, which can be obtained from millers, blacksmiths, or looted from enemies.
Stealth in KCD2 depends on visibility, noise, and timing. Wearing light armour reduces noise, while staying in the shadows improves concealment, and moving slowly prevents detection.
To knock out an enemy, crouch behind them and press the Knockout (F) button. A blue sword icon signals a successful attempt, while stronger enemies may resist, requiring quick counteractions.
Visibility, conspicuousness, and noise are the three factors that affect stealth. Visibility indicates how easily enemies can spot you. Noise shows how much sound you create in the game. Choosing the right footwear reduces noise and light armour in KCD2 produces less sound. To be less visible, use the crouch mode, as running, jumping or sudden movements tend to alert enemies or guards, especially in open places. For pickpocketing, you must approach the targets and engage in the mini-game to steal valuables without getting caught. Dark areas in the game provide better cover for stealth. If you are new to the game, sleeping NPCs at night is the best way to practice your stealth and pickpocketing skills.
