Minecraft 1.10.2 was an update that corrected quite a few of the minor problems that were starting to occur in the 1.10 series of updates. 1.10 was known as being one of the most major updates in the Minecraft franchise at the time, providing a whole section of new blocks, mobs, and different gameplay elements that really changed up how Minecraft was seen.

This particular update solved a lot of small problems, like for example boats would sing for the ice one place down, mobs would not interact properly with offences, but would sink into the ground, exiting a boat would teleport the player to their original location, villagers would run all the time, and destroying end crystals would leave ghost fire lying around.

So, it was clear to see that the 1.10 update, while incredibly significant and highly well received, still had quite a few bugs in it. Hence 1.10.2 was introduced, and it did very well. Being able to correct a lot of the small problems meant that Minecraft was a lot more smooth and functional to play, and also meant interactions with mobs and boats would be even more refined.

Boats in particular were a challenge, because while they were not a new mechanic, the concept of ice on the world was, which meant that the over world was even more difficult to navigate on a boat. The ice blocks themselves did not have the correct characteristics, so they didn’t behave like typical ice should. This meant that people were getting confused.

Ultimately, there were many different routes that people could take when it came to how they did things. There were numerous resources to take advantage of when it came to gameplay, and it was easy to see that there were multiple options to take a look at. The introduction and fixing of many bugs and problems meant that Minecraft was a lot easier to play, which was welcomed.

As previously mentioned, 1.10 was incredibly famous for introducing so many new mechanics, specifically a lot of fire and ice-based mechanics. However, programming them and making them work in the correct way was something that the team didn’t necessarily get right on the first attempt, but future attempts made sure to correct the problems.

Ultimately, this was a much needed update that corrected some of the little problems that Minecraft was facing. It was nice to see exactly how things could play out, and the different mechanics that were possible to be achieved. This was definitely a good update in the face of 1.10 as a whole, which introduced so many incredible mechanics that in fairness, it probably wasn’t possible to get them all right on the first attempt anyway. However, the team made sure that they made all of the relevant updates, correct the problems that were occurring, and ultimately gave Minecraft a new lease on life.
