TerraFirmaCraft Reditus is like an expansion pack for the original TerraFirmaCraft. Known to many fans as TFC, this has been an incredibly popular and well received set of modification packs. This can put off a lot of players off, which is a shame, because there is a lot to appreciate here especially when it comes to exploring and creating a brand-new world. In comparison to a lot of modification packs, this is quite small. It is only roughly 1 to 2 GB of RAM, which means that almost any PC can run it quite comfortably. This makes it good for servers as well, as you can introduce it as a general theme rather than something reserved for only a handful of players. These are modifications which enhance the performance of the game, but don’t disrupt it, which is nice when you consider that some packs will absolutely change everything, and leave you with an experience which may not be what you wanted.

Thankfully, this is not the case here. Everything runs smoothly, and enjoys a high level of functionality. What you have to try and consider is that there are so many different options to think about, and at the same time you don’t necessarily have to worry about whether or not you have complete creative freedom, because this is not Minecraft. You still mine, build, and create, with complete creative freedom still functional and available as befitting a sandbox game like this is.

Having a smoother and much more functional Minecraft experience can only be a good thing. A lot of people have amended in the past that Minecraft can be quite restrictive as a game. A lot of people struggle to reconcile this with different images that they have in their own head. It can be quite challenging sometimes for you to have a complete and rounded experience, but this is not the case here. Think of this as being like a re-master of Minecraft. You can play the original game, but everything is smooth and sharper, which lends itself well to an enhanced experience.

All in all, there is a lot to appreciate here, and there are a lot of different things at work to make this highly engaging and addictive. This is very much a standalone project, one which builds on the existing mechanics and doesn’t try and do anything radically different. But at the same time, it does tie in faithfully with the other versions of TFC. Definitely worth exploring if you’re someone who liked the original versions, but one something smoother and smaller for use in a more general setting. Overall, there is definitely a lot to appreciate, and it is well worth your time to jump in and begin experimenting with everything on offer.
