Have you ever been unfamiliar with something and don’t know how to get started? Yeah, of course you have. You’re not alone either - that is the position from which we all begin and progress. So it stands to reason that some of the mod packs out there should cater for people who need assistance, and this one just does that. It’s called Bytesize, and it offers people a small, manageable and easy way of getting started in the world of modding. Prepare to learn about the incredible world of mod packs from the perspective of a training server - you’re free to learn as much as you please.
So let’s be honest here. Installing a mod pack for the first time is a hard thing to try and do. There are so many things to install and worry about and a lot of people struggle to keep up. They don’t install everything and they fail to notice when something is going wrong because they’re new. Bytesize does not let this happen - instead it gives you a basic mod pack to get used to and puts you down in a small server which doesn’t have a lot going on - it’s only 1GB which is pretty miniature. An excellent starting point, in truth.
Everything that you work with is smooth and easy to use. You can tell that this was designed for people who want to learn how to work with these modifications and types of changes. You don’t have to worry about performance issues or anything like that - you can do whatever you need to, whenever you need to, with absolutely no consequence to it. Whatever you choose to do, there is a system in place to help you learn the ropes and look after you all at once.
As this is supposed to be a training exercise there are very few sanctions for getting it wrong. Yes you can still die and lose resources, but when it comes to introducing new mechanics and figuring out what to do, complete control remains in your hands. In comparison to major modpacks there’s not as much to play with here which means that you can gain a mastery of things and not have to worry about whether or not you’re going to be able to enjoy yourself properly - in that respect it’s quite nice. You don’t have to worry but can instead focus on enjoying yourself more than anything else.
So if you are new and looking to get started with an experience like this then Bytesize is the way to go. It’s small enough that you don’t have to worry but large enough to give you an idea of what to expect in the future. The way that you move forward and the types of experiences that you have are within your control and that’s always nice. Being able to shape a world and learn the basics of mod packs is always fun, and this is presented in a highly enjoyable way.
