Terraria Queen Slime Boss Guide
As part of your Terraria adventure, it’s well worth taking some time to learn about the different bosses you’ll come across in the game. Indeed, there are many bosses in Terraria, and the Queen Slime is just one such example. But what is Terraria’s Queen Slime boss, and how can you take the Slime Queen down? Well, today, we’re looking at some of the key things you need to know about the Queen Slime boss to help you prepare for this important battle in your next Terraria game.
What is the Queen Slime in Terraria?

Make Your Own Terraria Server
If you’re playing in early-hardmode, the Queen Slime is likely one of the first bosses you will come across in the game. The Queen Slime is a massive blob of slime that wears a rather elaborate crown. She has two forms, with the first form being a regular sponge and her second form also having a pair of wings, allowing her to fly freely. This makes her an impressive foe, and one that could definitely put your adventure at risk. One thing you won’t have to worry about, though, is your game being at risk of a DDoS attack when you start your new game with a custom private Terraria server. The boss lives in The Hallow and is incredibly strong, with a whopping max health of 18,000 and a defense of 26 in classic mode alone (jumping up to an incredible max of 240 damage and 36,720 life in Master mode), making her vastly stronger than most other slimes in the game.
The Queen Slime is a large slime, and she has several key strengths that can make her a pretty tricky foe to defeat. Critically, she has 100% knockback resistance and is completely immune to shimmering, confusion, and poisoning.
One of the biggest challenges of attacking the Slime Queen has to be the fact that she is incredibly fast moving. Still, we’ll consider how to take down the Queen Slime in your next game of Terraria shortly to help with this!
How to Summon the Terraria Queen Slime
We’ve mentioned what the Slime Queen is in Terraria, but before you’ll be able to fight her, you’ll first need to summon her into your game. Fortunately, summoning the Queen Slime is a pretty simple task, although getting hold of the materials you’ll need can be somewhat trickier. Namely, the Queen Slime is summoned using a Gelatin Crystal. Make sure that you use the Gelatin Crystal within a Hallow environment, otherwise the Gelatin Crystal will be used up without actually summoning the

Queen Slime successfully.
A Gelatin Crystal is found inside the Underground Hallow within Pearlstone or Pink Ice Blocks, randomly replacing the crystal shards that would normally spawn. These are very rare, however, and there is only a 2% chance that a Gelatin Crystal will spawn in place of a Crystal Shard.
Taking Out the Slime Queen Boss in Terraria
If you’re considering going after the Queen Slime, it’s important to prepare in advance to increase the chances of successfully taking her down. Indeed, the Slime Queen Boss has multiple phases and gets progressively harder to fight as the battle continues; given this, you’ll need to prepare carefully to ensure that you stand a good chance of winning the fight.
First of all, preparation is key. Make sure you’re skilled when it comes to dodging, as avoiding the Queen Slime’s attacks is essential; it won’t take too many hits for the Queen Slime to kill your character in Terraria, so there’s not much scope for taking hits.
In addition to dodging, you may want to set up an area before summoning the Slime Queen to help improve your health regeneration between hits. Make sure you’ve got plenty of campfires down in the arena to help with this.
Moreover, it’s good to memorize the Queen’s attack style before entering the combat, too. Luckily, the Slime Queen is pretty predictable, jumping several times before going in for an attack. Her two main attacks are a manual melee attack, whereby she jumps towards the player to stomp them; she can also send out six regal gels to attack the player with.
Bear in mind here that, once you get her down to 50% health, the Slime Queen will transform into her second form, and this makes her far trickier to take down. So, don’t get too confident as you begin to see her health bar getting smaller; there’s more still to come! Her upgraded form not only allows her to fly, but this also means she can fire Regal Gel in ten directions, and she’ll use her fly ability to make stomping easier. The one benefit here is that, once upgraded, she won’t be able to teleport to you anymore!

FAQs
Does it matter what depth I use a Gelatin Crystal at?
No. Gelatin crystals can be used at any depth, but the crystal must be used within a Hallow environment to successfully spawn a Queen Slime.
Can I farm Gelatin Crystals in Terraria?
You can “farm” Gelatin Crystals in Terraria by placing rows of pink ice blocks and pearlstone blocks, which can then spawn Gelatin Crystals in place of the normal Crystal Shards.
