One of the interesting aspects you can find in Stardew Valley is the combat. Unlike most farming games out there, Stardew Valley tried to combine some elements from RPG, including character customization, weapon forging, and monster hunting. When it comes to weapons, all players would agree that the best ones are the infinity weapons. But you need to get an item called Galaxy Sword in Stardew first.
Back then, the players could only upgrade their weapons and tools at the blacksmith. With the update 1.5, however, the weapon arsenal grew, along with the unique ways to obtain them. In this guide, we will explain how to get the Stardew Valley galaxy sword and upgrade it into an infinity weapon.
How to Get Galaxy Weapons
Before you can get your hands on the infinity sword, you must first acquire the galaxy weapons. Unlocking these weapons is a mandatory step to get the infinite weapons, as you will need them for the basic weapons.
To unlock the galaxy weapons, including the sword, you will need to unlock the Calico Desert first. You can do that by repairing the bus either by getting the Vault Bundles or paying some gold to Joja.
Once the desert is unlocked, you will need to go to the three pillars on the top right. Here’s your first step to getting the Galaxy sword. There are some hints that may lead you to it, including the four Dwarf scrolls and reading the Dwarven tombstone in the town’s graveyard.
Long story short, you will eventually get the Galaxy sword after following all the hints. It’s pretty easy to find, as long as you pay attention. Now, you have the Galaxy Swords in your hands. So, what’s next?
To find the best weapon in Stardew Valley, one needs to find the upgrade materials first. What you need is the Prismatic Shards located just in the center of the pillars you visited before. Note that it’s one of the rarest items in the game, so handle it with care. Be careful when moving it in your inventory, as some players mistakenly threw it away.
Aside from the pillars, you may collect some of the shards from breaking the mystic stone in Skull Cavern, Floor 100 of the Mines, or Volcano Dungeon. There’s also a 4% chance of it dropping from the Iridium node.
For those who love hunting monsters, a Prismatic Shard is a possible item drop, although the percentage is around 1%.
Once the Prismatic Shard is obtained, ensure your character is holding it. Walk right at the center of the pillars and see the cutscene. The shard you are holding will magically turn into a Galaxy Sword, one of the strongest weapons in the game.
After getting the sword for the first time, new items will be available at the Adventurer’s Guild. These are Galaxy Sword, dagger, and Hammer. Each of them is sold for 50,000 gold, 35,000 gold, and 75,000 gold.
Getting Galaxy Souls
After you obtain the galaxy sword in Stardew Valley, the next step is to get special items called Galaxy Souls. These are the items you need to upgrade Galaxy weapons into Infinity Weapons. All you need are three Galaxy Souls.
Similar to Prismatic Shards, these items are not common in the game. Getting them may require a lot of effort and time as the process may be longer. For example, to get one, a player needs to find 100x walnuts on Ginger Island. Doing so will open access to Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room.
There, you may take on several special challenges from Mr.Qi himself. Finishing the challenges will grant you rewards as Qi Gems. One Galaxy Sould can be purchased with 40 Qi Gems. To fully upgrade a Galaxy weapon, you will need 120 of them.
Some Galaxy Souls can also be found in the Shrine of Challenge on Floor 120 of the Mines. The challenge will open after completing “Danger in the Deep” order once. In the tougher versions of Skull Caven and the Mines, the enemies will rarely drop Galaxy Souls.
In special quests like “Danger in The Deep” or “Skull Cavern Invasion,” make sure to kill at least 50 enemies. That way, you will be rewarded with an option to buy Galaxy Souls from the trader. The trader will offer it specifically on the last day of the season. You can get one by trading 10x Radioactive Bars that can be obtained from Dangerous Skull Cavern and Dangerous Mines.
Farming Galaxy Souls
It’s also possible for players to “farm” Galaxy Soulds by consistently defeating enemies at the hard version of the Mines and Skull Cavern. Doing it solo may be very challenging; that’s why we recommend doing it with other players.
Have or join a private server, and start playing together. We highly recommend playing on a private server hosted by Scalacube.
Scalacube is one of the best server hosts out there, which makes it possible for players to be free from inconsistent internet connectivity, random lags, and high pings that could ruin their gaming experience.
At affordable prices, players can get their hands on an easy-to-use server host, which may offer better scalability, safety, and integrity to all users. Use it now to enjoy a smoother online gaming experience.
Forging Infinity Weapons
Now that the materials have been obtained, let’s start making the infinity weapons. Similar to how Stardew enchantments work, the process requires you to upgrade the Galaxy Weapons using the required materials.
Go to the Volcano Forge on Ginger Island with the materials you have obtained. Each weapon forge will require 20 shards. After the third forge, the Galaxy weapons will turn into Infinity weapons. Below are the stats of Inifinity Weapons:
- Infinity Sword: Level 17, Damage 80-100, Speed +4 Defense +2
- Infinity Dagger: Level 16, Damage 50-70, Speed +1 Defense +3 Critical Hit Chance +4 Weight +5
- Infinity Hammer: Level 17, Damage 100-120, Speed +2 Defense +1 Weight +5
Players can also enchant the Infinity Weapons to give them extra effects. If you have applied an enchantment to the Galaxy Sword, the effect will be carried out to the Infinity Sword.
