Guide to Enchantments and Weapons Forging in Stardew Valley
To get better weapons, most players would visit the Adventurer’s Guild. Yes, the place is where you should go to get the stronger weapons, at least better than the basic ones. To get much stronger weapons, you can go to a special place located on Ginger Island called the Forge. Before you’re on the hunt to find prismatic slime stardew, there’s something you need to know.
Although the forge mechanism might seem complicated at first, dealing with the Volcano Forge isn’t that hard. In this guide, we want to explain all you need to know about the weapon enchantments and forging in Stardew Valley.
How to Get Cinder Shards
Before you craft special items, like the lava charm Terraria, you will need to gather important materials called Cinder Shards. To obtain Cinder Shards in Stardew, one needs to go to Ginger Island first and then to the volcano where the Volcano Dungeon is located. We have a guide that helps players navigate dungeons and reach lower levels. In dungeons, there are two different ways to obtain Cinder Shards: digging through dungeons and fighting certain monsters.
There are Cinder Shards nodes scattered throughout the dungeon, and players can remove them using a pickaxe. It looks like the rock from which Cinder Shards emerge. It is also wise to go on good luck days so that if the knot breaks, more knots will have the chance to lay eggs. Players can check their fortunes daily by turning on the TV and watching the Fortune-Teller channel.
There are also four monsters in the dungeon that have a chance to drop one or two Cinder Shards after being killed, which are False Magma Cap, Magma Duggy, Magma Sparker, and Magma Sprite. Each of them had a chance of dropping to 1-2 cinder shards.
Alternatively, it is possible to obtain a cinder shard in Stardew in a fish pond with at least seven stingrays. The probability of producing two to five shards is seven to ten percent. Thus, while they do not come in large quantities, this is a great way to get them passively.
Weapon Forging
Learning how to fish in lava in Terraria might seem as complex as learning the weapon forging in Stardew Valley. Don’t worry; we will walk you through it. Once you get the hang of the mechanism, both forging and enchanting will be much easier.
As mentioned above, you will need some cinder shards to start enchanting your weapons. The same thing applies to weapon forging. In Stardew Valley, you can forge the weapons up to three times, with higher stats applied each time you forge.
The forge, however, can only be done to weapons, not tools. If you want to do your first weapon forge, you will need 10x Cinder Shards. For the second one, it’s 15x shards and the third 20x shards. A gemstone is also needed for this, and each type may grant you different enhancements as follows:
Gem Types Effects
Aquamarine Increase critical hit chance
(+4.6%, +9.2%, +13.8%)
Emerald Increase weapon speed (+2, +5, +7)
Jade Increase critical hit damage (+10%, +20%, +30%)
Ruby Increase weapon damage (+10%, +20%, +30%)
Topaz Increase wearer’s defense (+1, +2, +3)
A diamond can also be used to get three random upgrades at the same time. Doing so will require you to use 10x cinder shards.
Unforging Weapons
After using the forager ancient galaxy, one question that many players asked is, “Can I unforge my weapons?” The answer is yes. Players can “reset” their weapons if they’re not satisfied. The unforging will require you to put the weapon in the left slot of the Forge. There, you will have to select the red X button.
Clicking the button will remove any forging, making the weapon go back to its original state. The process will also recover some of the shards used for the forging, although the gemstone will be lost forever.
Weapon Enchantments
Aside from weapon forging, players in Stardew Valley can also add some effects to their weapons and tools through enchantments. The effects are more varied than forging as you can apply even some of the unique ones, including better efficiency or gaining health after defeating enemies.
The process, however, will require you to use 20x cinder shards and a Prismatic Shard. To get the Prismatic Shard, you will need to find and defeat Prismatic Slime in Stardew. Although all seems smooth, there’s a catch.
Unlike forging, enchantment effects are randomized. So, you may expect to get different results each time you start the process. If you’re unhappy with an effect, simply do the enchantment again to replace it.
For weapons, there are some unique enchantment effects you can apply to your weapon, such as:
Enchantment Effects
Artful Halved special move cooldown
Bug Killer Add double damage to insect-type enemies, including rock crabs, spiders, bugs, flies, and grubs. The enchantment also allows players to defeat armored bugs.
Crusader Adds double damage to skeletons, mummies, void spirits, and ghosts. The enchantment also allows players to defeat mummies permanently.
Vampiric Grant a 9% chance of health regain after defeating an enemy
Haymaker Cutting the weeds will grant a double chance to get fiber and 33% of hay.
