The Most Elusive Pals in Palworld
Palworld may not have as many creatures as other games, but its Paldeck is packed with interesting and rare monsters for players to find or breed. Currently, there are 137 Pals, and some can only be obtained through breeding. As Palworld continues to grow and eventually leaves Early Access, more Pals will likely be added, making this a great time to start collecting the rare ones already in the game.
In this survival world, Pals help with base tasks or support in combat and exploration. Some are easy to find, but others take more effort. Many only appear in certain areas, at night, or through breeding. Taming these rare Pals gives a special sense of achievement and makes them valuable additions to your roster.
Let’s talk about the top 10 rare pals in Palworld; each comes with their uniqueness, sports to hide in, and abilities. Let’s get started!
Jormuntide Ignis
Element: Dragon & Fire
Jormuntide Ignis is as fiery as they come. This dragon, the lava-breathing cousin of the Water Pal Jormuntide, is a beast that you’ll only find in one spot, the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary. Its spawn rate is laughably low, so you’ll need some serious dedication and a lot of patience to catch a glimpse of this flaming lizard.
You can find Jormuntide Ignis anytime, day or night, but its spawn chance is tiny. If it's not on the island when you visit, don’t sweat it. Try flying away and coming back to respawn the Pals.
Besides being a literal dragon, Jormuntide Ignis makes for an excellent mount, worker, and battle companion. Once tamed, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without this hothead by your side.
Flower Gumoss
Element: Grass & Ground
Gumoss is already a common sight in Palworld, but the Flower Gumoss is a whole other story. With its distinctive red flower sprouting from its head, this variant is as rare as it comes. It’s found in the same locations as the regular Gumoss, but you’ll need to get lucky to find one with this blooming feature.
Its spawn rate is much lower than that of the basic Gumoss, so you’ll be doing a lot of running around, hoping for a lucky sighting.
Shadowbeak
Element: Dark
If you're in the mood for something truly eerie, Shadowbeak is your bird. Found deep in the dangerous No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary, this dark and twisted Pal is the stuff of nightmares. With a backstory hinting at genetic modifications, Shadowbeak isn’t your average Pal anymore.
It spawns in a high-level area and is difficult to find. Shadowbeak’s appearance is so rare that players often have to revisit its location multiple times before spotting it.
While it doesn’t do much for your base-building efforts, Shadowbeak is an amazing mount and a powerful combat Pal, especially for late-game players. Catching this rare bird is like a badge of honor.
Necromus
Element: Dark
Necromus is another Dark-type Pal, but unlike Shadowbeak, this guy is a straight-up boss battle. Found in the Desiccated Desert, Necromus spawns alongside Paladius, making this duo a formidable force.
Necromus is a Level 50 Alpha Pal that only spawns in one specific spot in the desert, and taming it is no walk in the par. Once captured, Necromus becomes one of the fastest ground mounts in Palworld and a beast in battle, especially when paired with its buddy Paladius.
Vaelet
Element: Grass
If you’re the kind of player who enjoys solving puzzles to find rare creatures, then Vaelet is your perfect challenge. This flower spirit beetle can only be found in the No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary and requires some serious effort to capture.
Vaelet doesn’t spawn often, and you’ll have to deal with guards and tricky terrain to even reach its spawning grounds. Unlike others, Vaelet isn’t just another pretty face—it has a third-level medicine ability, making it one of the most useful pals for crafting healing items and tending to your team.
Elphidran Aqua
Element: Dragon & Water
Dragons are cool, but dragons with rare alternate colors? Even cooler. Elphidran Aqua is the water variant of the already awesome Elphidran, and getting your hands on one isn’t as simple as stumbling across it in the wild.
You can only get Elphidran Aqua through the careful breeding of a Surfent and an Elphidran. There are no wild spawns, and the breeding process is incredibly specific.
Frostallion Noct
Element: Dark
Frostallion Noct is the shadowy, more sinister cousin of Frostallion. With its black and purple color palette, this Dark Element Pal looks like something out of a nightmare. However, like Elphidran Aqua, it can only be acquired through breeding.
There’s no chance of finding a wild Frostallion Noct. You’ll need to breed a Frostallion with a Helzephyr to create this rare Pal.
Lunaris
Element: Neutral
Lunaris is an alien Pal, and fittingly, it’s out of this world in terms of rarity. Only spawning in the Sealed Realm of the Esoteric in the Sea Breeze Archipelago, this Alpha Pal is tough to find and even tougher to tame.
It spawns in only one spot and has a very low spawn rate, so good luck finding this cosmic critter. As a Neutral Element Pal, Lunaris’ gravity-based abilities make it a versatile companion in combat and a great addition to any collection.
Kitsun
Element: Fire
Topping our list is Kitsun, a stunning Fire-type Pal with a serious case of wanderlust. Found at the top of a snowy mountain, Kitsun only spawns at night and is notorious for fleeing at the first sign of danger.
Kitsun is difficult to spot and even harder to catch since it runs away almost immediately. Catching Kitsun isn’t just for bragging rights—it’s a powerful mount that offers protection from both hot and cold environments and is a fierce combatant in battle.
Wrapping Up
Tracking down these Palworld rare pals isn’t easy, but the satisfaction of adding them to your Paldeck is worth every bit of effort. Whether you’re flying to wildlife sanctuaries, navigating treacherous terrain, or carefully breeding for rare variants, the chase is all part of the fun. FAQs
Lunaris is the only Neutral Element Pal on the list of rare pals. It is an extraterrestrial life form, which is understandable why it is not a common creature. Lunaris only spawns in one spot in Palworld, and even once located, defeating this Level 32 Alpha Pal is a difficult challenge.
Frostallion is a Legendary Ice Element Pal located to the east of the Land of Absolute Zero. Frostallion's tremendous ice skills make him tough to catch.
Jetragon is Palworld's fastest-flying Pal. The Jetragon has a ride sprint speed of 3,300, which is more than double that of Frostallion's.
