All Mages Guild Recommendations in Oblivion Remastered
The Mages Guild in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is one of the most recognizable guilds in the entire game, a haven for scholars, alchemists, battlemages, and adventurers seeking to learn the ways of the arcane. No matter if a veteran wizard or sword-fighting warrior with a flair for the magical arts, joining the Mages Guild is one of the most rewarding early-game experiences. While Oblivion Remastered is replete with dozens of joinable factions, ranging from the Fighters Guild to the Thieves Guild, membership in the Mages Guild allows for spellcasting, enchanting, and some of the most compelling story quests across all of Cyrodiil. And the cherry on top, you don't necessarily need to be a mage to shine. These quests can be completed by any player character build, whether it is sneaking through dungeons or bludgeoning through by brute force.
How to Join the Mages Guild in Oblivion Remastered

Make Your Own game Server
To gain full membership in the Mages Guild, you will require letters of recommendation from all seven guild halls that are located throughout Cyrodiil. The guild will provide you with a unique quest to try out your abilities before supplying its letter of recommendation to the Arcane University. When you've gotten all seven, you'll have full access to the Arcane University in Imperial City, including high-level spellcrafting, enchantment altars, and master magical instruction. To determine where you are in terms of moving forward, go to the Quest tab, select "Join the Mages Guild," and click "Show on Map." It will then mark the next guild location you haven't completed, making it that much simpler to plot your course through Cyrodiil.
All Oblivion Remastered Mages Guild Locations & Suggested Quests
There are seven Mage Guild halls in total, each with its own suggested quest. They can be done in any order.
Bruma Mages Guild Suggest - The Vanishing Apprentice
Location: Bruma Quest Giver: Jeanne Frasoric Upon entering the Bruma Mages Guild, you will be greeted by Jeanne Frasoric, who will ask you to find a missing apprentice named J'Skar. Inside the guild hall, observe a strange shimmering effect. This is J'Skar, who has used the invisibility spell, trying to play a prank on other guild members. Magical Solution: Speak with Alves Uvenim at Leyawiin Mages Guild to purchase the Dispel Other spell, which will be capable of revealing J'Skar. Non-Magical Solution: Raise Volanaro's Disposition through Speechcraft or bribes and inquire about J'Skar. He will realize the trick and dispel the invisibility himself after a while. Once J'Skar is visible again, return to Jeanne to get your Bruma recommendation.
Skingrad Mages Guild Hint - Saving Erthor
Location: Skingrad Quest Giver: Adrienne Berene Adrienne will ask you to rescue her missing student, Erthor, who was doing some experiments in the nearby cave. Head down the quest marker to the cave, fight off the aggressive creatures, and lead Erthor back to safety at the guild hall. There, speak with Adrienne again to finish the quest and receive your Skingrad recommendation. Hint: Make sure to empty the cave before trying to get Erthor out - he won't leave if there are any foes left in the cave.
Leyawiin Mages Guild Recommendation - The Dream Amulet

Location: Leyawiin Quest Giver: Agata & Dagail Enter the Leyawiin Guild Hall and talk to Agata and Dagail. Dagail has been having worse, strange dreams and has lost her Amulet of Seers, which she needs to concentrate. The quest will lead you to a local dungeon, where you'll battle rogue mages and imps for the amulet. Be sure to take the left-hand corridor in the dungeon and retrieve the key from the enemy commander so that you can access the final room. Retrieve the amulet, return it to Agata (not Dagail first, so there are no bugs), and you'll have your Leyawiin recommendation.
Anvil Mages Guild Quest - Caminalda's Treachery
Where: Anvil
Who: Carahil
Carahil will request that you investigate strange attacks on merchants along the Anvil Coast.
Travel with Arielle Jurard and rent a room at the local inn, posing as a traveling merchant.
After sleeping, Caminalda will accost you with suspicious interest. Attempt to leave town, and
she'll attack you on the coastal road. Kill her and report back to Carahil for your reward and your
Anvil recommendation.
Tip: Carahil is also an Illusion Magic Trainer, so this visit is doubly useful for mages.
Bravil Mages Guild Recommendation - The Missing Staff
Location: Bravil Quest Giver: Kud-Ei Speak with Kud-Ei, and she will ask you to get her friend Ardaline's staff, which has been stolen by Varon Vamori. Raise Varon's Disposition with Speechcraft or bribes and ask him about the staff. He will tell you it's in a house in the Imperial City Market District. Rob the night, break into the basement, and open the locked dresser to get the staff. Return it to Kud-Ei to get your Bravil recommendation.
Chorrol Mages Guild Tip - The Book of Larceny
Location: Chorrol
Quest Giver: Teekeeus
Teekeeus has you fetch the book that was pilfered by one of your fellow students, Earana.
Speak with her, then return to Teekeeus for information.
Head to the quest marker to a burnt-out area and loot the book from a charred body.
You will have the choice of delivering it to Teekeeus or Earana. To finish the guild quest
correctly, deliver it to Teekeeus and obtain your Chorrol recommendation.
Cheydinhal Mages Guild Recommendation - The Ring of Burden
Location: Cheydinhal Quest Giver: Falcar (and Deetsan) Falcar will assign a vague task involving the Ring of Burden, but you’ll soon realize something’s amiss. Speak to Deetsan when Falcar is out of sight; she’ll secretly offer help. Deetsan provides the Buoyancy spell and a key to the guild’s rear well. Dive in, turn left, and locate a corpse carrying the Ring of Burden.
This ring will weigh heavily in your encumbrance, so shed excess equipment or cast Feather to facilitate your getaway. Head back home and return to Deetsan, who will find Falcar's black soul gems in his quarters, revealing his betrayal and allowing your Cheydinhal recommendation.
Rewards for Completing All Mage Guild Recommendations

After completing all seven recommendations, you’ll be invited to the Arcane University in the Imperial City. This grants full membership to the Mages Guild and access to: Spellmaking altars (to cast spells of your own). Enchanting altars (to enchant gear with magical properties). Special trainers and higher-level spells. It's one of the better-rewarding faction lines of Oblivion Remastered, featuring deep lore, interesting characters, and an entry into the game's upper-end system of magic that is necessary.
