The latest news from the developers of Hytale.Hytale Progress Update: 31st August 2020
Hello everyone, it’s a new month, and we are going to reveal a unique system that lets plants grow and spread with time, offer detailed information about an upcoming change to our monthly delivery process of new Hytale products, and share some cool screenshots of the magical Orbis world.
But first things first. We are thrilled to see how well the community has taken up the hardy Mosshorn, the most recent creature we revealed in our previous month’s press update. So, what would be better than a single Mosshorn? You guessed right, two mosshorns!
These powerful jaws are made for munching. This is the main reason we have introduced Hytale’s dynamic plants.
Fast plant growth
In our progress update rolled out in January, we revealed part of our achievements with the Hytale’s farming system. One of those achievements is the ability to plant crops and grow for a few in-game days. Recently, we implemented simulated growth cycles for different types of plants. This allows us to simulate the natural growth process outside the context of farming concepts. To understand the new system, think of it as a hybrid of a traditional farming system and the randomization techniques that power the system that generates Hytale’s landscape detailed in our June progress update. Note that different plants propagate and grow differently. As with most aspects of world gen, the randomization concept ensures that organic growth feels more natural, and various plants can produce remarkable results. Generally, we are excited about this system. It allows us to include a sense of life to the adventure mode ecosystem while offering the players various ways of making their mark in their gaming environment.
A better approach to Hytale updates
We are delighted to offer the community a glimpse behind the amazing scenes via our progress updates over the course of 2020. Sometimes, game development does not break down easily into regular roundups. We are currently working on several features that should be kept under wraps until correctly unveiled and other game aspects that players will discover on their own.
Additionally, we have increased our resources and expanded our team to ensure significant progress in all important areas. Our teams have invested time to make sure the game features we intend to deliver are coherent with our aspirations and the feedback from the Hytale community. Note that we’re now recruiting top talent, and you may want to keep an eye on our jobs page for the latest updates.
In recent months, we have analyzed nearly every aspect of the Hytale game to ensure everything is on track and in line with our goals. This includes things that the game’s community is familiar with, like the structure and scope of the adventure mode and various parts of Hyale kept under wraps.
Note that we are approaching a phase where we will be ready to roll out various Hytale game parts that we have never presented to our community. With this in mind, it’s time to take a break from our regular updates and work towards a more exciting set of reveals.
In the meantime, we will not be silent. Over the next months, we will be more active on social media channels as we offer our recent ‘postcard from Orbis’ screenshots weekly. Besides, we will be working on an amazing new fan art showcase. So, be sure to tweet your creations #Hytalefanart.
The community’s support and understanding mean a lot. After all, game development is not a sprint; it’s a marathon. Our developers continue to draw motivation from the community enthusiasm we see online each day. Thank you!
