Fishing in Core Keeper is another simple activity that hides one more layer of depth in gameplay. This guide explains how to fish, the fishing mechanics involved, and a complete list of fish that you can catch within different biomes.
How to Fish in Core Keeper
Fishing in Core Keeper is easy once you know how it works. First, you'll need a fishing rod, which will be accessible when you reach the Tin Tier by mining Tins in the Clay Caves biome. After equipping the rod, look for blue sparkles on the surface, indicating fish below, and drop your bobber into these areas to start fishing.
Not all fish can be found in the same biome, and they have spawn levels that decrease over time. Sound cues and visual on-screen indicators are important in learning fishing patterns and in quick catching of fish.Fish may be sold, consumed raw or cooked once caught.

Core Keeper Fishing Mechanics
The fishing user interface in Core Keeper is straightforward, consisting of four main components:
Rod Indicator: This shows whether you are reeling in a fish or letting the line run.
Fish Progress: Displays your progress in catching a fish. Pull the fish to the left to catch it, but if it reaches the right, the fish escapes.
Line Tension: Indicates how close your line is to snapping. Reeling in a fish increases tension, and doing so while a fish is running increases it significantly. If the bar fills up, the line breaks and the fish escapes.
Running Fish: A running fish is highlighted in red. Reeling it in at this time will quickly increase line tension, so it's best to avoid reeling until the fish stops running.
Successful fishing depends on understanding fish behaviour patterns. Each fish simply follows a looped pattern composed of "pulling" and "resting." Recognition of these patterns can lead you to what the fish is likely to do next and hence increase your chances of catching it.
Fish Patterns in Core Keeper
Fish in Core Keeper exhibit specific patterns characterised by the length of their pulls and rests:
P: Short Pull
PP: Medium Pull
PPP: Long Pull
R: Short Rest
RR: Medium Rest
RRR: Long Rest
These patterns can be used to anticipate a fish’s movements, making it easier to catch.

FAQs
Notice the bubbles in the water; that would give away fish presence in Core Keeper. There's a variety of biomes from the Undergrounds to the Clay Caves and Sunken Sea, each housing many different fish types. Higher-tier fishing rods and bait further raise your chances of catching the rarer fish.
Whenever there are doubts about there being cumulated tension in the line while reeling in fish in Core Keeper, stop and allow the tension to drop for a while. The tension meter is important in this respect; when very high, your line may snap, and thus you will lose the fish. Stopping and allowing the tension to drop will prevent such cases from happening and help one to catch fish.
