How to Collect Water in Soulmask
Anyone who plays Soulmask regularly will know that it’s impossible to survive on nuts, berries, and roasted roaches alone. It may seem likely but your tribesmen would not be able to share one particular delicacy for too long. This will cause their moods to get affected and their work will suffer. You also need water, especially if you’re going to cook some meals.
To make any meal, we all know water is the most important resource. And without water, you may not be able to make good meals for you and your tribesmen.
Crafting and Filling a Water Bottle
Getting water is important, no doubt. But how do you carry this resource back to where it is needed? Or how do you even collect it? You need a water bottle. So, how do you make a water bottle in Soulmask?
First, you need to get the following items:
- Beast Hide x2
- Fiber x10
- Thick Rope x2
Once you have all these, open the crafting menu by pressing 'Tab'. Combine the materials to make a water bottle. Add it to your Shortcut Items for quick use. There. It's as easy as that.
Next, you need to fill the water bottle.
To do this, find a water source like a pond or river. Move close until the "Draw Water" message appears, then press E. The bar under the bottle icon will turn white when it's full. You can now select the bottle from your shortcut to drink.
But there are times when you can't access a source of water. What do you do then? You create your own water source.
Creating a Water Source
Why go to the river each time you need water? You can set up a steady water supply at your camp with a Well or Rainwater Collector.
First, unlock the Well blueprint in the Knowledge & Technology Panel. Press 'T' to open the panel, then unlock the blueprints in the 'Crop Planting' section under the Dawn of the New Tribe chapter.
To craft the Well, you'll need to gather
- 19 Thatch
- 19 Clay
- 10 Thin Rope
- and optionally, 10 Logs or Hardwood.
Alternatively, you can unlock the Rainwater Collector in the ‘Premium Potting’ section. To craft it, you'll need
- 20 Clay
- 2 Ceramic Molds
- 8 Wooden Handles
- 5 Thick Rope.
It can be crafted at the Potting table. Both the Well and the Rainwater Collector gather rainwater, giving you a steady supply at your camp. Use them to refill your water bottles and tanks easily.
Transferring Water
You may also need to water your farmlands or fill a trough for your animals. What do you do? Use a Water Bucket or Water Tank.
The Water Bucket can be unlocked in the Advancement of Bronze Chapter. Press ‘T’ and unlock Advanced Carpentry. From there, select Advanced Carpentry Technique. To craft it, gather 10 Planks, 4 Copper Ingots, and 2 Wooden Handles at the Carpenter’s Table.
You can unlock the Water Tank after researching Potting Techniques in the Rise of the Barbarians chapter. Fill these containers like you would a water bottle. Then, carry them to the location you need and press the Left Mouse Button to transfer the water.
You can also collect water from your wells if ponds or lakes are too far to reach.
How to get Water Consumption for Cooking in Soulmask
To meet the Water Consumption requirement for cooking, you need to store water in a container that fits in the cooking stove’s inventory. If you have a full water bottle in your action bar, the game won’t count it as part of your inventory. You must move the water bottle into your inventory for the stove to recognize it. It is important to do this if you want to make any meal. You can put the water bottle back anywhere else after cooking.
A water bottle holds 100 units of water, enough for five to ten meals, depending on the recipe.
