Palworld has countless different crafting materials, and just one such example of this that you’ll almost certainly need for your own crafts is sulfur. Indeed, although sulfur might not be the flashiest resource in Palworld, it’s undoubtedly a vital ingredient, not least of all because it’s necessary to make gunpowder (which in turn is a major component of ammo). So, we really shouldn’t need to explain why a steady source of sulfur is so important for your next playthrough of Palworld - and, to this end, we’ve outlined some of the best sulfur base locations, what makes them great, and how to get the most out of them.
If you’re looking to craft ammo, you’ll need access to plenty of sulfur. If you’re planning to play a Palworld multiplayer game on your very own private server, the need for sulfur is likely to be even higher still! And, luckily, there are several mid-to-late-game locations where sulfur nodes are numerous enough to justify building a dedicated base around them! These include the following locations.

To the South of Cinnamoth Forest lies a large clearing that’s an ideal place to construct your very first sulfur-gathering base! Admittedly, this location doesn’t actually contain sulfur within the confines of the base itself, but instead just a short distance away; nevertheless, being in a relatively lower-level area than some of the other bases, it’s a great place to start. Plus, you’ll also find a good amount of wood and ore within the base’s borders, and because the land is flatter, it’s good for players who want a large base that they can build up quickly.
If you’re looking for a sulfur-producing base that’s both efficient and edgy, building your camp at the foot of the Volcano’s just the ticket! The base to the South of the Volcano is another large option, with several sulfur and ore nodes inside - ideal for constructing an efficient harvesting system. However, it is set in a hot climate, and be prepared for high-level enemies in this area that you’ll need to defend the base against!

If you don’t want quite such a large base to protect, the small camp to the West of Mount Obsidian might be your ideal choice. This location has some of the highest sulfur node densities in the game, although there aren’t any bonus resources available that the other bases can offer. Furthermore, as with the Volcano base, you’ll still need to plan for a difficult time when defending the base, as the hot climate and powerful local enemies will definitely put up a challenge.
While the areas we’ve just mentioned are widely considered to be the best places to collect sulfur in Palworld, they’re definitely not the only ones; indeed, sulfur in Palworld can technically appear across the map. With that being said, at level 45, you can also unlock the Sulfur Mine, an incredibly handy technology that can be used by a Mining Pal to extract Sulfur from your base. The perfect solution for heavy gun users who need all the sulfur they can get their hands on!

The best base locations in Palworld for sulfur harvesting include Mount Obsidian West and to the south of Cinnamoth Forest or the Volcano. Each location has slightly different amounts of sulfur and harvesting potential, so this is well worth keeping in mind.
Unfortunately, no. While a single sulfur node can work for early or occasional use in the game, especially if you’re only an infrequent gun user, it’s unlikely to be efficient enough if you use guns often.
Sulfur is an incredibly important crafting material in Palworld, thanks to being used in gunpowder production. Gunpowder, in turn, is then used in ammo manufacturing, making sulfur a must for regular gun users.
Generally speaking, the majority of sulfur nodes in Palworld appear in the volcanic regions. As such, you’ll need to be prepared with plenty of heat-resistant gear.
Sulfur is one of those “real must-have” materials in Palworld for any player who uses a gun; after all, you simply won’t be able to craft ammo without it! However, not all bases necessarily have the same ability to produce sulfur, and while some bases may only give a little (or even none at all), others are absolutely loaded with this rare resource. So, make sure you’ve considered these excellent base locations to help make your sulfur-collecting efforts a little easier!
